Stumbled across this meme on Walker of Worlds which links to the SciFi Matesterworks project, which I have not had time to fully check out.

The List below are classics all, like Walker of Worlds, I’ll bold the books I’ve read, and italicize the ones I own and should read :) Granted, this is one publishers list of titles, and I do not find fault with any choices other than is seems very heavily weighted with PKD. I really like PKD but always run into road blocks of one kind or another when i get ready to pick up something to dive into. His influence is surprising the entertainment industry today. I venture to say more of his stories have been created into successful high quality productions than Stephen King (and I like SK too). Granted SK has a ton of movies out there, but few satisfy like the results you get with Blade Runner, Paycheck, or Total Recall.

Several planets aligned last week and I finally pulled the trigger on a DSLR camera. It wasn’t a huge leap as I opted for a used Canon Rebel XT (EOS 350D) from B&H Photo and Video. I have had several false starts, strange circumstances getting in the way or taking priority, and just plain cold feet on making the purchase. This time though I had the extra cash, Joani had a need for a camera too for a research trip, and B&H had a decent camera in good shape used and priced well within the target budget.

Of course I have no sample shots yet because Joani left the day after it showed up on her research trip so maybe I will get a chance to play with it this weekend.

Darkroom – I use the free version primarily for the “steady cam” feature.

CameraBag – Several prepackaged filter effects for modifying shots. I have examples in previous posts.

TiltShiftGen – I have lots of examples below. I have a blast with this filter.

Waze – Crowd sourced mapping and a meta game. Almost augmented reality.

Foursquare - Another meta game wrapped around checking in when you go somewhere. Offers the ability for users to provide tips on destinations.
