First attempt at organic modeling

This was modeled for school using Blender 2.5 (and some 2.49 here and there). I took a couple of passes at UV texturing and can not take credit for the image I finally used. Our instructor provided a great image to work from , but once he demo’d  the creation of it I am confident I can replicate that process.  There are some obvious flaws in this, (OMG the ears) but over all I am quite happy with it being a first attempt at Organic modeling of any kind. Props to our instructor for getting me out of my comfort zone.

yeah the ears look a bit funny :P And maybe there something wrong with the eye texture cause i cant really tell where the iris starts. Also correct me if i’m wrong is he glowing? After all it’s a great result for a first attempt. I wish my first attempt will look like this even though I am not really interested in making an organic model. So thumbs up for you man.. : )

Yeah that glowish look is a side effect of the subsurf scattering settings and the number of lights in the scene. That also needed more tweaking.
