			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.untoldthegame.com/" target="_blank">Untold </a>is a game a friend developed (with a couple of other locals). I got a chance to provide some art for a couple of the cards and some writing for their website. As can be implied from the start of this project I am a gamer and have been since way back in high school, so getting published in a game was a big kick for me. This picture sorta of melds all those hobbies into one. Gaming, 3D and photography.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="intro">I recently downloaded the <a href="http://www.nevercenter.com/silo/" target="_blank">Silo 3D</a> demo to give it a try. I have heard great things about it and have seen it used in several folks pipelines. It has a pretty good library of free tutorials available on their website, the best of which are by <a href="http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/" target="_blank">Glenn Southern</a>. Honestly a lot of the work flow is similar to modeling in <a href="http://www.newtek.com" target="_blank">Lightwave</a>, but for some reason the flow so far has been much faster. Same connections in the brain to make shapes, but the interface is more intuitive I think. Based on the comfort level I am feeling with the software, I am gonna lay down the cash and register Silo. If tested pulling the objects into both Lightwave and Maya and did not see anything wonky, so am not worried about complications there yet. I am sure the more complicated a model the more likely something might break, but for the price I can run that risk.</p>
<p>Once again I find myself trying to flesh out an idea for <a href="http://www.untoldthegame.com" target="_blank">Untold</a>. This time some armor sets for different factions. Based on some art they already had in place, so far I am pleased.</p>

<p>Finally finished the model I have been working on for class.  I&#8217;m not crazy about everything on him, but overall I am pretty pleased. There are details and changes that need made to get him closer to the <a href="http://www.untoldthegame.com/node/279" target="_blank">original art</a> for the character. The character was designed for <a href="http://www.untoldthegame.com/" target="_blank">Untold</a>, a new card based RPG that is getting very close to hitting the streets. Excitement is building on that front, if you visit the site (and why the heck wouldn&#8217;t you) sign up for the newsletter. The most recent one had lots of info on the coming changes, sample art, and insights behind the scenes of what should be a HUGE hit.</p>
<p>The next step on the model will be giving him some textures, which i have started and am never, ever satisfied with the results. You may never see that on the blog :)</p>
